Jessica has been passionate about animals from a very young age. Very early on she thought she might be a veterinarian. She spent summers on her Mothers' families working dairy farm learning and helping where she could as a small child and pre-teen. As she got older she continued to own and learn to train and care for family pet dogs, cats, rats, snakes, pigs, sheep,..... well anything she could get in her pocket or home before her parents said no.
In 2015, she began her journey into the dog psychology understanding of dog training and communication, when her rescue dogs Banksey(Blue Bully in the middle above) and Waldo (white and tan Boxer/Red Healer mix to the right) were adopted. Both dogs, like many rescues, came with a lot of baggage and after searching for trainers over the first year who could help, she finally stumbled into dog psychology. The concepts started to click and learning to speak 'dog' seemed so much more natural. She wanted to shout her findings far and wide and make sure everyone she knew, knew there was an easier way to live with and train dogs. She started helping at rescues and humane societies. She brought home more and more fosters who needed help in order to find placement; or were on their last chance and she helped to rehabilitate and find them the right homes.
While working with a lot of dogs and trying to learn as much as she could as fast as she could with hands on experience, its been only within the past 3 years that Jessica has most recently found the mix of techniques and communication she believes in best to help others live the lives they want with their dogs. Training is fluid and a lifestyle. Jessica has been able to find other like minded trainers and mentors who have propelled her knowledge and understanding of dog behaviors, body language, drives and learning techniques to the next level. Only recently has she left the tech industry for dogs and human/dog relationship coaching full time.
Jessica utilizes an individualized approach for each human and dog, taking all of the techniques and knowledge she has acquired over the past 9 years, to customize an approach that works for your lifestyle and the dog you have. Jessica believes that basic foundations are critical and obedience is valuable, but mindset is a primary motivator for both human and dog. Learning to communicate, fulfill, direct, drive and understand your dog will open up your ability to grow together. Growth happens in learning and our mistakes. Embracing your opportunities and desire to live a better life with your dog is her motivation as well.
